Erkin Vorobyev - painter
(b. 1950 in Karakchikum village, Tajikistan)
1978 graduated from Frunze College of Arts (now
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).
Since 1988 Erkin was a member of the Union of
Artists of the former Soviet Union.
Erkin participated in many national and
international exhibitions since 1978, including Russia, Germany, India,
France etc.
His paintings are exhibited in the Uzbekistan
National Museum of Fine Arts, Fergana Museum of Ethnography, Art
Gallery of the National Bank of Uzbekistan, many other galleries and
museums.
Private collectors from Iceland, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Hungary, U.S.A.
and other countries enjoy owning his art pieces.
Erkin lives in a tiny apartment studio in Andijan
and now only paints what he sees out the windows. In recent years he
started adding colored smalt pieces to his traditional oils making his
pieces shine more when properly lighted.
In our collection we have pieces of three distinct
periods of his artistic career: 1980s, 90s, and modern days.
